After breakfast full day tour of the pink city visiting The City Palace and S.M.S. II Museum - situated in the heart of the old City, it occupies about one seventh of the old city area. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture; it houses a seven storied Chandra Mahal in the centre, which affords a fine view of the gardens and the city, Observatory - built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the huge masonry instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky. Enormous sun-dial still provides accurate times, which are subject to daily corrections. Also visit Hawa Mahal- built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, is the most recognizable monument of Jaipur. The 5 storied stunning semi-octagonal monument having 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. After breakfast we start our full day tour of the city of lakes & palaces… visiting The City Palace a largest complex palace in Rajasthan. The palace has many courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. The main entrance is through the triple arched gate, the ‘Tripolia’ with eight marble porticos. The maharanas were weighed under the gate in gold, the equivalent amount of which was distributed among the populace. The main part of the palace is now been converted in to a museum. Jagdish Temple- Built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh. The temple is located at about 150 metres north of the entrance to the city palace. The temple is designed in Indo-Aryan style and is the largest and most beautiful temple of Udaipur. To the north of the city lies a beautiful garden known as 'Saheliyoin-Ki-Bari'. This small ornament garden with its fountain, Kiosks, marble elephants and delightful pools. Afternoon explore the mini city of Pushkar by walk visiting Brahma Temple- This is the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma is worshiped. Also visit Pushkar Lake and Savitri Temple, the temple is dedicated to Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma and located on the top of the Ratnagiri Hill. After breakfast drive to Agra. En-route visiting the phantom city of Fatehpur Sikri: the erstwhile capital of the Mughal emperor Akbar the Great. See Jodhabai’s palace (Akbar’s Hindu wife) that is even bigger tha n his own private palace. Later visit Salim Chisti’s tomb at the nearby mosque. alim chisti was a Sufi saint who blessed Akbar and his Hindu wife with a long awaited son. Taj Mahal is awaiting your arrival this morning. A must see with the rising sun as the Taj Mahal is bathed in the golden rays of the morning sun. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial that houses the tomb of his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed, and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design, balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen anywhere in the world.
